At the Riverwalk Apartments Homes, we truly believe that we are located in one of the greatest areas in North Carolina. Sure, our residents get to enjoy quick access to Charlotte without having to live in the big city and world-class amenities that can make it hard to leave home, but if there is one thing that we think makes our location so great, it might just be our proximity to Lake Norman.
Lake Norman is one of the largest lakes in North Carolina — boasting an impressive size of 49 square miles — but what makes this lake so special is that it provides our residents with an abundance of fun summer activities. Activities like boating!
In today’s blog post, we will be talking more about the boating opportunities that our residents can take advantage of, as well as how you can have the best day out on the lake before summer is over.
Boating: What Is The Appeal?
If you are having trouble determining what the allure of a day out on the lake is, boating is probably not for you. For others, however, a day out on the lake sounds like a dream come true. After all, what is not to love about the hot sun, strong breeze, and cool water.
While the appeal of boating is fairly obvious, different people have different ideas of what boating is. For some, it is spending the day on the deck of a bass fishing boat hunting for the perfect fishing spot. For others, boating is a day on the lake being towed on water skis or a tube. And in some cases, people define boating as drifting in the middle of the lake while slathered on sunscreen and sipping a cool beverage.
Regardless of how you define boating, today’s blog is sure to help you find a way onto the lake.
Lake Norman Boat Rentals
At our Denver apartment community, we have found that one of the main factors that keeps our residents off of the lake is the fact that they don’t have a boat. Understandable, right? Luckily, there is a way to work around that.
Being that Lake Norman is somewhat of a tourist attraction, there are a large number of people who had the great idea to open boat rental businesses — allowing you to rent a boat for the day and hit the lake!
If you are looking to rent a boat for the day, the closest boat rental marina to our apartments for rent in Denver, NC can be found at Lake Norman Marina or Safe Harbor Westport. By contacting them to request a rental, you can learn more about the pricing for each boat, but generally speaking, you can expect to spend about 200-300 dollars for a full day of boating fun.
Where To Launch Your Boat
If you do have your own boat, which you can park at your Denver apartment if you live at the Riverwalk Apartment Homes, there are plenty of places to access the water. The closest boat ramps to our apartments for rent in Denver are Beatty’s Ford Access and Little Creek Access Area.
Being that Lake Norman is so large, you might want to drive to a farther boat ramp on the west shore of the lake so that you don’t waste all of your boat’s gas driving to your preferred anchoring spot.
